Information

Lebuh Aceh Mosque (Acheen St Mosque) is one of the oldest mosques in Penang, and dates back to the year 1808. The mosque was founded by Tengku Syed Hussain bin Abdul RahahAideed, a wealthy Achehnese. In fact, his tomb and those of his family members are located at the rear of the mosque. The houses that surround the mosque in present day is part of the original Muslim settlement of the mid-19thcentury.
