APMG Torch Run 2018

Introducing APMG 2018 Torch Run starting from Tips of Borneo, Sabah to Penang, total distance approximately 3,900km in 99 days. The run will start from 28th April, 2018 and conclude on 8th September, 2018
The torch will be carried by running, cycling, swimming, para-gliding, paramotor, speedboat, sea-walking, etc around whole Malaysia to reach Penang for the Opening Ceremony of APMG 2018 on 8 September 2018. Beginning at sunset from the Tip of Borneo in Kudat, Sabah on Saturday, 28 April, 2018, the local authorities which represent MALA (Malaysian Association of Local Authorities) together with government agencies will organise events in each state. APMG Torch Run is strongly supported by 77 local authorities.

Swimming across 6km Straits of Malacca
The torch will be carried by swimming across Straits of Malacca from Butterworth to Penang island for the round island final leg.

The Torch Run is part of the run-up to the inaugural Asia Pacific Masters Games to be held in Penang on 7-15 September 2018.
