31 May A New Guinness World Record in Penang

Penang International Food Festival (PIFF) was a two-week event which took place from the 14th till 29th of April 2018. The finale of #PIFF2018 was held on the 28th and 29th of April in Batu Kawan, Pulau Pinang. It was a proud moment for Penangites as #PIFF2018 managed to set a new Guinness World Record for organizing the Largest Food Truck Rally at the compound of Design Village Mall in Batu Kawan. The Food Truck Invasion event was officiated by the then Chief Minister of Penang, Mr Lim Guan Eng.
It was also known that #PIFF 2018’s Food Truck Invasion had beaten the initial record in Saitama, Japan two years ago. The record was created with a total of 158 food trucks, beating the count of 123 vehicles in Japan. The announcement was done by the representative of Guinness World Record, Mr. Peter James who opted for another visit to Penang as he was impressed with the delectable food choices in Penang.
Uniting food trucks from Penang and Peninsula Malaysia, these vendors brought various, famous cuisines together. Among the food that were being sold include Mexican, Arabic, and the very famous hawker street food from Penang. Overall, #PIFF2018 had provided a tantalising treat and an eclectic entertainment for the Penangites. And yeah, heads up guys, we are now the official holder of the Guinness World Record for the Largest Food Truck Rally.
